A tint stains the lip and wears down evenly as it fades. Lipstick sits on the surface, gives more opaque colour, and tends to transfer and patch as it wears off.

How do I stop lip tint drying my lips?

Apply a lip balm first and let it absorb for a minute, then blot before the tint. Reapply balm over the top at night. Water and glow tints are less drying than velvet or matte finishes.
